Sveta Nedelja is a town located on the A3 highway spanning from Slovenia – Bregana – Zagreb – to Lipovac, 6 km east of city of Samobor and 17 km to the west of the Zagreb city center. Sveta Nedelja was mentioned for the first time in 1501 as one of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Zagreb, although there are some indications that the first mention was recorded in 1334. Although it is the youngest town in the County of Zagreb, it has proudly preserved its historical monuments – the testimonies of the life of the holy-east region – evidence of the continuity of development.
Samobor dates back to the year 1242 according to the Charter of King Bela IV. It is listed among medieval “free royal market towns”. It is located on the eastern slopes of the Samobor Mountains (part of the Žumberak Mountains), at the exit of the river degradation in the Sava valley. In addition to production activities, the Rimac Automobili factory organizes guided tourist tours for visitors, business partners and groups who can learn about the innovative processes of creating new technologies and supercars of the 21st century. A standard tour is offered, which lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and includes a brief introduction by the guide about the company’s origin, a visit to the Showroom and the Machining, CNC processing, Composite Production, Paint Shop, Vehicle Assembly, Research and Development Departments (engineers), and a visit to Greyp Bikes factories. In addition to the standard tour, it is also possible to arrange a premium tour, which, in addition to all of the above, also includes a 10-minute test ride on the Greyp G12 on an electric bike.
All lakes have an area of 220 hectares. The largest lake is Finzula, the other three lakes are Votok, Nadolez and Jus. The lakes are known as a place for fishing and are home to various fish – carp, grass carp, pike, perch and catfish. The largest carp on freshwater lakes in Croatia in 2012 was caught precisely on the lakes in Rakitje, more precisely in Lake Finzula, weighing 31.50 kg and caught by ŠRD member “Rak” Rakitje.
The modern park and lake Kipišće is located in the settlement of Strmec along Ulica kralja Tomislava. It provides a pleasant stay in nature and is an ideal place for family walks with small children, people with disabilities, and various types of recreation for children and adults. The landscaped promenade around the lake, about 500 meters long, with rest benches is ideal for a leisurely family walk with small children. A special attraction on the lake are the ducks and graceful swans who are very friendly and happy to pose by the very edge of the lake. If you want, you can offer them corn, other seeds or salad. Within the park there is a large children’s playground equipped with a wooden boat, swings, swings, a climbing frame with a slide, etc. Various events and manifestations are held in the park throughout the year.
Veternica is a cave located in the Medvednica nature park, on the very edge of the city of Zagreb, and in 1979 it was protected by law as a geomorphological monument of nature. It got its name from the current of air (Kajkavian: wind) that occurs at the entrance. The entrance to the cave lies at an absolute height of 320 m. It consists of main canals (2622 m) and an intricate system of horizontal corridors, canals and halls. Remains of about 70 species of animals (cave bear, cave lion and leopard, cave hyena, rhinoceros, proboscis, giant deer, wild cat, etc.) were found in Veternica, among them spikes, scrapers and daggers.
